Track 1 is based in part on one movement of Tchaikovsky's The Nutcracker Suite, but was adapted in the sixties by keyboardist Kim Fowley into a sufficiently new composition to make it distinctively different. The Nutrocker was recorded by Emerson, Lake & Palmer and issued on their album Pictures At An Exhibition.
Presumably Ed Palermo contributed as arranger and possibly alto saxophone, though he is omitted from the CD credits.
