design Frank Reynolds organ Joanne Bassett photography Shane Chadder producer, music director, conductor Robert Redhead recorded by, engineer Ed Marshall soprano vocals Lynn Fuller tenor vocals Morgan Sharp This double LP was recorded live at Toronto's Roy Thompson Hall on the evening of November 13, 1982 to celebrate The Salvation Army's 100th anniversary in Canada and Bermuda.
In what finer way could The Salvation Army express to God its gratitude for His faithfulness through a century of witness in the Canada and Bermuda Territory than with a Symphony of Thanksgiving given by its finest musicians? And what better venue could be chosen than the Roy Thompson Hall, Toronto's brand new concert Hall? This double album, the first to be produced by this Territory, is a commemoration of that event.
The music chosen reflects the whole spectrum of Salvation Army music from classical to contemporary, tender to triumphant. All the selections were presented as a sacrifice of praise to God and with the earnest prayer of every participant that the different aspects would inspire the audience to want to know more of Him.
It is with this aim that this album is being offered to you now. - G.J.R.
