The Free Jazz Festival was a music festival held annually that had, between 1985 and 2001, sixteen editions, all of them occurring simultaneously in Rio de Janeiro and Sao Paulo. The festival was sponsored by tobacco company Souza Cruz branch, hence the name Free Jazz since Free is one of the cigarette brands produced by the company.
