According to the newspaper Arbeiderbladet 1963-12-28, the album was recorded 1963 from the 12 to the 14 November.

The first Norwegian jazz 12 LP came in 1963 on the Harmoni label with the title Metropol Jazz. It contains music of 11 different groups. The first 12 LP released as a Norwegian jazz artist solo album, was Karin Krog's By Myself on Philips in 1964.
