The 'Paradis' guitar featured by Jose on this album is a unique blend of lead and bass in one instrument The Band's original intention was to have one guitarist playing guitar and bass at the same time. Jose was able to achieve this in the shape of the 'Paradis', an electric nylon guitar with inbuilt sub bass designed by Rolf Spuler and Mathias Grob of Switzerland. The sub bass is triggered electronically when Jose plays in the lower register.
