It is well known that auditory discrimination plays a major role in the development of pre-reading skills. The stimulating listening activities that are contained within this album have been created to assist in the reading readiness process. Sound effects and music, sound stories, sound dances, listening games and related activities are utilized to help the child develop essential listening skills. The contention that good listeners eventually develop into good readers has served as the underlying philosophy for this album. It may be used successfully on a group or individual basis in conjunction with any developmental communications skills program.
