This recording presents Norwegian folk music and original compositions featuring both the 36-tone pipe organ and 43-tone electronic organ of Norwegian composer and musicologist Eivind Groven 1901-1977. Heard solo, and together with vocals, recorder, and willow flute, the most remarkable aspect of Groven's Just Intonation Organ is and automatic pitch selection device to allow real-time changes of tuning during performance. This feature expands the pitch palette of the standard keyboard, creating more subtle nuances of tone and a much wider range of harmonies--from crystal clear chords to striking sonorities unique to Norwegian folk music. David Loberg Code - 1999
