Japan-for-U.S. CD issue of original [l57951] 1984 digital recordings, by Keith Clark and The Pacific Symphony Orchestra, of violin concertos by Samuel Barber and Gian Carlo Menotti, the latter being the only available recording (at least at the time of this release!). The packaging includes an eight-page booklet, with liner notes by Richard Saxby and John N. Burk; brief notes concerning both the conductor and recording specifics; a list of other [l57951] releases in [l1025331]; a partial discography of other, contemporaneous [l57951] CD releases; and color front and back covers, the former featuring a reproduction of a painting by an unidentified artist, and the latter featuring a brief biography of both the conductor and orchestra.
The title is given as The Pacific Symphony American Music Series: Menotti: Violin Concerto and Barber: Violin Concerto on the booklet; as Menotti and Barber Violin Concertos on CD label; as American Composers: Barber And Menotti Violin Concertos on back of inlay card; and as Barber And Menotti Violin Concertos on spine -- of all of them, the first and third iterations both reinforce each other and seem to be the most complete, so the information each provides has been incorporated into the appropriate fields in the Title and Label/Catalog sections! as per [g3.1.3.]
