Rosa Newmarch (18 December 1857, Leamington, Warwickshire — 9 April 1940, Worthing, West Sussex) was an English musicologist and poet. She was best known for her extensive research of Russian and later Slovak music; Newmarch regularly traveled to the Russian Empire, working at Saint Petersburg's public archives under
Vladimir Vasilievich Stasov, and became one of the first British critics who analyzed and covered Slavic music to such depth and extent. From 1908 to 1927, Rosa Newmarch wrote program notes for The New Queen's Hall Orchestra and their increasingly popular
Proms concert series at London's Royal Albert Hall, praised by critics for accuracy and in-depth detail. During her Proms tenure, she became the first mentor of renowned musicologist
Eric Blom (1888—1959). They wrote in tandem until 1927, when the BBC took over the concert series.
