Grammy Award winning American jazz trumpet and flugelhorn player, composer and producer, based in New York City, USA

Born 27 November 1945 in Cheltenham, Pennsylvania, USA

Previously married to jazz/classical pianist Eliane Elias in the 1980s, with whom they have a daughter Amanda Elias Brecker (a jazz vocalist herself); they divorced in 1990. In 2010 he married saxophonist Ada Rovatti/Ada Brecker. He collaborated musically with both of his wives. His brother, the late Michael Brecker, was also a jazz saxophonist.

Co-founder (with his brother Michael) of the jazz club Seventh Avenue South, New York City, and the production company Brecker Productions.
