Swedish songwriter and keyboardist, born on October 25, 1955 in Brännkyrka kyrkobokföringsdistrikt, Stockholm, Södermanland and died on December 16, 2023 in Gustavsberg-Ingarö, Värmdö, Uppland.
Norell started his career by co-founding the Swedish group
Secret Service, together with
Ola Håkansson and
Ulf Wahlberg, where he wrote international hits such as Oh Susie, which topped the charts in 29 countries, Ten O'clock Postman and Flash In The Night.
After
Secret Service, he continued as one of the members of the songwriting trio
Norell-Oson-Bard. Tim Norell wrote the music and
Ola Håkansson, usually with
Alexander Bard, wrote lyrics to his melodies.
During the 1980s and 1990s, Tim was behind a long series of hits performed by some of the biggest Swedish artists of the time. Some examples of the music he wrote include Dansa i neon with
Lena Philipsson, Allt som jag känner with
Tommy Nilsson &
Tone Norum, Give My Life with
Army Of Lovers, It Started with a Love Affair with
Jerry Williams, and Jeannie's Coming Home with
The Boppers.
Tim Norell died after a long battle with a serious illness. He was 68.
