American Jazz writer, producer and disc jockey (KJAZ, San Francisco).

Educated to doctoral level as a zoologist at UC Berkeley where he also taught. During his career in jazz , Wong hosted a radio show Jazz Perspectives for KJAZ (1959-1996) and was active in the International Association of Jazz Educators and served as the main producer for the Blackhawk Records and president/artistic director for the Palo Alto Records labels. Wong wrote many liner notes and articles which were collected in Jazz on My Mind: Liner Notes, Anecdotes and Conversations from the 1940s to the 2000s (Jefferson, NC: McFarland, 2016)
