The Pandoras

In 1984, just prior to the release of The Pandoras’ first LP, band members Bambi Conway, Gwynne Kahn, and Casey Gomez split from singer/songwriter Paula Pierce and formed their own version of the band with guitarist Lisa Black, with both Pierce and her former band mates claiming the Pandoras name. The new group (nicknamed The Gwynnedoras or Gwynne’s Pandora’s) signed a record deal with Enigma Records, appearing on a compilation and recording an album but the release was shelved after Enigma insisted they change their name. Meanwhile, Pierce continued on under the Pandoras banner with various members until her 1991 death.

In 2014, the band was resurrected as the 21st Century Pandoras with singer/songwriter Susan Hyatt (who had briefly played in Paula’s version of the band) fronting the group and releasing new music.
