British musician, mime artist, actor, photographer, and author. Starting in 1976, he studied Mime and Physical Theatre with Desmond Jones, and
Lindsay Kemp. By 1980, Dry had joined the electronic/mime/burlesque/music troupe,
Shock; who were at the vanguard of the New Romantics, and supported acts such as:
Visage,
Classix Nouveaux, and
Ultravox, to name but three. Whilst with Shock, he and fellow group member, Sean Crawford, had also been performing as a robotic mime duo called Tik & Tok. They supported
Duran Duran in 1982, toured with
Gary Numan on his UK ’Warriors’ tour in 1983, and would go on to work with
Vangelis. During this period, they also featured in the Star Wars saga ’Return Of The Jedi’. On the demise of Tik & Tok, in 1984, Dry moved more into acting, and other areas of the media, but occasionally returns to music.
