Popular filmmaker, born 20 June 1968 in San Antonio, Texas, USA. Brother of
Patricia Vonne. He was revealed with his first epic movie El Mariachi (1992), which made it's way to the Sundance film festival. He would later direct Desperado (1995), an American remake of El Mariachi, starring
Antonio Banderas in the lead role. Subsequent movies such as From Dusk Till Dawn (1996), The Faculty (1998), The Spy Kids Trilogy (2001-2003), and Sin City (2005) raised him as one of Hollywood's most promising young directors. On the musical side, Robert Rodriguez is known for it's track Desperado, often confused with
Gusto's Disco's Revenge based on the same sample (Groovin' You by
Harvey Mason). Brother of
Rebecca Rodriguez.
