Violinist and composer

Born in Germany, Helmut Lipsky studied the violin with Abraham Comfort at the Conservatory of Music in Winterthur, in New York with Ivan Galamian and Itzhak Perlman, finally obtaining a M.D. at the Brooklyn College Conservatory of Music. He has won the presidential Scholar's Award for academic achievement and excellence in performance. Now living in Montreal, Helmut Lipsky is active both on the traditional and new music scenes as a performer, composer and teacher.
