Lidingö Kammarkör

Main image

Swedish chamber choir formed in 1946 as Lidingö Sångcirkel in Lidingö, northeast of central Stockholm. In 1949 Daniel Helldén took over the conductorship and in 1961 the choir was renamed Lidingö Kammarkör. In 1970 the choir was re-formed, the choir moved the rehearsals from Lidingö to Stockholm and combined e.g. choral singing and dancing (Kördans). During the period with Daniel Helldén as conductor the choir’s development and Daniels Helldén’s development as a composer, musician and conductor can hardly be separated.
