He studied at Southern University with legendary jazz saxophonist Edward Kidd Jordan, later worked with Allen Toussaint and Dr. John. In the studio, he has worked with a diverse collection of artists including Paul McCartney, Patti Labelle, Ramsey Lewis, Joe Cocker, the Neville Brothers, the Olympia Brass Band, and Etta James. As a producer in the early '90s, he worked with Ernie Mother-In-Law K-Doe, Oliver Who Shot the LALA Morgan, and Milton Batiste. The late '90s found Williams composing for television and film, as well as performing with the Wild Magnolias and his own group, Ken Afro and the All Nations.
