American jazz singer (born September 22, 1922 in Derry, New Hampshire – died February 01, 1950 in Deming, New Mexico).

The son of professional dancers, Stewart performed in vaudeville from age 8. In the early 1940s, he was a member of The Snowflakes, accompanying Claude Thornhill And His Orchestra. After serving in the army between March 1942 and 1944, he sang with Gene Krupa And His Orchestra, both solo and as a member of the vocal quartet, The G-Noters. He stayed with Krupa until 1946. After that, he recorded with the Charlie Ventura orchestra for Savoy (1947), as a solo act and as a co-leader with Kai Winding (1948), and with the Charlie Barnet orchestra (1949). He also recorded with Blossom Dearie and Charlie Parker. In 1950, while trying to return to his wife and child, he died in a car crash in New Mexico.
