Taro Nijikama is a Japanese musician, writer, and critc. Known as one of the early promoters of the term Onkyo, he owned the short-lived record shop Paris-Peking based in Shibuya in the early 1990s. He introduced numerous foreign experimental music to audiences and made many eccentric mixtapes, which were mainly categorized as Sound Collage later. After the record shop ceased operation, he created several labels, including [l23152], [l29893], [l4730], [l56887], [l41027], [l39305], etc. From the late 1990s to 2000s, he anonymously produced a massive amount of music under different aliases, mainly released in the form of CDr, each with a very limited run.
Since 2017, he set up his Bandcamp Weekly Nijikama, in order to publish his unreleased materials, and re-release hard-to-obtain CDr-only releases.
