It all began in 1979 in Forli, created the first demo in 1984 which contains only three songs that demonstrated the full capability and preparedness of Rex Inferi. After this work, the band became one of the best reality of the underground scene of that time. In 1985, the group relies on the hands of Paul Chain - one of the mastermind of the Italian Metal
- and under his leadership created the first Ep The Damage Has Been Done. The content of the album, five songs, will go down in history as one of the few examples of good Speed ​​Metal, perhaps the best produced by an Italian band at that time. Maurizio Samori was the main architect of the music of Rex Inferi, the album went to the LM Records and today it is quite difficult to find, considering the cost of the vinyl is not exactly cheap. Officially, the history of the Italian combo ends here: after the completion of The Damage Has Been Done the band broke up. Indeed Rex Inferi had already entered the studio to produce their second chapter Like A Hurricane, an album that has never been released until 2005.
