American jazz saxophonist (soprano, alto, tenor, and baritone) and clarinetist, born February 1893 in Booneville, Missouri. Nickname Sticky. He played with Johnny Dunn's Original Jazz Hounds, Gulf Coast Seven, Thomas Morris And His Seven Hot Babies, and others, and backed vaudeville blues singes such as Mamie Smith, Hannah Sylvester, and Edith Wilson.
