The Zagreb Theater Komedija was founded on the 1st of November 1950 as a follower of the Zagreb Drama Theater and the Kerempuh Comedy Theater. Its reperetoire consists mainly of operettas ans comical operas (since 1950), as well as musicals (since 1960), rock/pop operas (1975) and comedies from classical to modern, of domestic and international authors. The theater is also into publishing, the choir and ensemble numbers 150 employees (actors, singers, ballet-dancers, orchestra and theater staff). The 1st stage play was performed on the 29th Nov, 1950. Till today there are more than 13 000 plays performed on Komedija's stage.
