British jazz clarinetist and saxophonist, born 14 December 1904 in London ⎯ died 12 January 1958.

Immigrated to Australia in 1939, where he led his own band in Brisbane before moving to Sydney at the end of WWII. Led his own band in Sydney and worked in bands led by Leo White and Eric Tann. As Ernest Rittez (aka Ernesto Rittez) he led the mostly samba-playing Orquesta Cubana (Ernesto Rittez & His Orquestra) in the late 1940's and 1950's. He also worked with Paul Lombard and with Alan Wood in Sydney.
