English opera company that began after WWII out of Sadler’s Wells in London. The location Sadler’s Wells has played an important role in the history of theatre, with The Royal Ballet, Birmingham Royal Ballet and English National Opera all starting life there. The opera company began earlier but changed its name after the war.
