Dutch bassist of German Metal band Hate Squad. After several years of cancer, de Groot died in August 2021.

He also worked many years as a label manager for Soulfood (2) and also worked for AFM Records (promotion) and cmm - consulting for music & media (print promotion). De Groot is founder of the labels Swell Creek Records and Violent Creek Records.

He was survived by his wife Joni.
