The Masterminds. In 1966, three members of The Masterminds, which included Joey, would be recruited to form a backing band for
The Merseys. This backing band became
The Fruit Eating Bears. In the next couple of years, after The Merseys broke up, he played briefly with The Cryin’ Shames. In 1967, he joined
Gary Walker & The Rain. In November 1969, he auditioned for The Iveys and was hired at the time they changed their name to
Badfinger. He left the band in late 1974. In 1975, he joined with Jerry Shirley and formed Natural Gas. The band disbanded late in 1977. He then pursued a solo career
Married to Kathie Molland from 1972 until her death in 2009. They had two sons, Joseph Charles Molland III and Shaun Michael Molland.
