Swedish soul singer and songwriter of Zimbabwean and Italian descent, also known as just Pauline, born on November 3, 1982 in Harare, Zimbabwe.
Pauline’s second surname, Olofsson, comes from her being adopted at the age of three when Pauline’s Zimbabwean mother married a Swedish man, Anders Olofsson, and they all settled down in Älmhult, Sweden in 1985.
Pauline studied her continuation school years, on the Swedish ’gymnasium’ level, in Malmö where she also took part in theatricals. Pauline’s first hit song, Runnin’ Out Of Gaz, came from her album Candy Rain, for which she was nominated for a
Grammis, the Swedish Music Award, in 2004, but did not win. Instead, she won the [l1635029] Award for Best Swedish Newcomer in that same year.
After that, she stopped working with Universal Music and started collaborating with [l362771], as a songwriter for other artists. She also started recording with other artists on albums. Her own second album was released on the label [l156837], in 2009. In the same year, she debuted on film as the Swedish voice of Tiana in Walt Disney’s The Princess and the Frog. In 2010, she tried to reach the final of [l637572], a contest which determines Sweden’s participant to the [l680322] every year, but wasn’t successful. Despite that, Pauline still continues to write music for others and herself, perform as a singer and record with other musicians.
